Host institution: Fundación del Sector Público Estatal Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Oncológicas Carlos III, Madrid, Spain
Host department: Microenvironment & Metastasis Group
Supervisor: Dr. Hector Peinado

Project description
Our laboratory is specialized in the in vivo analysis of exosomes delivery by in vivo imaging and characterization of exosomes by proteomics. We have recently described that specific signatures can be tracked in circulation and are representative of the progression of the disease (Peinado, Nat. Med 2012, Costa-Silva Nat Cell Biol 2015, Hoshino et al. Nature 2015). Currently, we are analysing the role of exosomes in lymph node premetastatic niche formation and main cell types involved. This project will be focused on the analysis of pre-metastatic niche formation in the lymph nodes by prostate cancer. We will analyze biodistribution of tumor-derived exosomes, main cells uptaking exosomes in lymph nodes and mechanism involved in local and distal metastasis.
